When you are born to country music superstars and power couple Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, it is completely unsurprising if you end up wildly talented like your parents. Gracie McGraw, the oldest of the three McGraw daughters, proved to inherit the vocal talents of her mom and dad when she was included on her father’s most recent album, Damn Country Music.
McGraw’s “Here Tonight” was written by Brett Beavers, John Osborne, and T.J. Osborne and features his oldest child as a duet partner. Though he doesn’t often perform it for audiences at his show, he did make an exception a couple of years ago for a hometown crowd.
On this Father’s Day, we throw it back to the surprise performance from McGraw’s August 2015 Nashville, Tennessee show at Bridgestone Arena, during which he called on his eldest to lend her vocals.
Following the duet, Gracie commanded attention from news outlets around the country, making everybody wonder if she was going to be the next McGraw to strike it big in the music industry. ET Online asked McGraw about Gracie’s presence on his album and whether she listens to advice from her ultra famous parents. He replied with:
She’s way more talented than I am, anyway. She doesn’t need any advice from me. She’s so bubbly and she fills up a room when she walks in. She’s got so much talent and is such a great songwriter, we’re going to hear from her down the road, for sure.
For now, Gracie is a student at New York University, but her parents anticipate that she will be following in their footsteps somewhat, while paving her own path to get to a similar destination.
Watch Tim McGraw and Gracie McGraw perform their duet, “Here Tonight,” on this very special day dedicated to fatherhood. Happy Father’s Day!
