At the beginning of this year, Reba McEntire released a new single, tapping into her faith and changing her musical direction. The Randy Houser and Dallas Davidson penned “Back to God” served as the lead single off her double-disc Christian/Gospel album, Sing It Now: Songs of Faith & Hope. The song was a part of a collection of traditional hymns and contemporary tracks that topped the Billboard Country and Christian/Gospel charts at the point of its release.

Now, McEntire and team are celebrating a first ever GMA Dove Award nomination for “Back to God.” It was announced that McEntire is among the nominees for the Bluegrass/Country/Roots Recorded Song of the Year for the 48th Annual Awards.

This will not be the first time “Back to God” is recognized at an awards show. Months ago, at the country music ACM Awards, McEntire took the stage to share the song and invited Christian Contemporary powerhouse Lauren Daigle to join her for the performance. The result was an even more special version of an already incredibly meaningful song.

The GMA Dove Awards will air on TBN on October 22.

The awards is just one appearance McEntire has on her schedule in the months to come. The Queen of Country Music will also be a part of the annual ACM Honors show at Ryman Auditorium. Additionally, McEntire will make her Grand Ole Opry return on September 22 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of her legendary stage debut. It was further announced that she is also one of the names on the bill for an upcoming Kenny Rogers farewell concert, taking place at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on October 25.

To date, McEntire remains one of the busiest and hardest working artists in the industry, and we are so happy to see that she is still receiving the accolades and acknowledgement she deserves.
