This date, January 24, in 2006 was a pretty big day for Josh Turner as his second album with MCA was released.  Your Man was a successful album debuting at #1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart as well as achieving two #1 hits; including the title track “Your Man and “Would You Go with Me”.  Both of which sat at the top of the charts for two weeks.  The album was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America just 4 weeks after it’s release, it hit Platinum after 6 months and scored Double-Platinum the following year.  It received nominations for ‘Best Male Country Vocal Performance’ and ‘Best Country Album’ at the 49th Annual Grammy Awards but did not win.

Josh Turner grew up in a church where he sang bass and baritone in the choir as well as in a gospel quartet he founded called Thankful Hearts.  He is a devout Christian.  Finding love in a schoolmate at Nashville’s prestigious Belmont University, he would marry his wife Jennifer Ford in 2003.  Together they have 4 sons.

Turner found big success with his debut album Long Black Train in 2003.  The breakthrough title track sat on Billboard’s charts for over 40 weeks earning Gold Certification.  He debuted the title track 2 years prior at his Grand Ole Opry debut where he received a standing ovation and was encouraged to sing an encore.

He has released a total of 5 studio albums.  His fourth album Haywire, released in 2010 produced two #1s; his biggest hit “Why Don’t We Just Dance” and “All Over Me”.  In 2012 he released Punching Bag including the Billboard Year-End biggest hit “Time Is Love”.
