According to PEOPLE, Marlow referred to Font as her best friend, considering the two have known each other since she was a sophomore in high school. She shared with the publication:
He is my best friend, and I’m truly engaged to my dream guy! I love that we’ve been together for so long before we got engaged because we know everything about each other. We’ve learned how to really love each other, how to communicate and how to be a rock for the other person.
As for the ring, Font made sure Marlow’s was incredibly special, including a piece of her parents in the design.
The center stone on my ring is the diamond from my mom’s original engagement ring. My parents have been married 25 years! My dad bought her a new ring a while back, so she kept her original diamond to pass down to me or my sister someday. It is so special having an heirloom ring because I will get to pass it down one day too.
Maddie & Tae burst on to the country music scene in 2014 with No. 1 song “Girl In a Country Song.” The pair then went on to release their debut full-length album, Start Here, which garnered four singles (“Girl In a Country Song,” “Fly,” “Shut Up and Fish,” and “Sierra.” Most recently the duo released its first single under new record label Universal Music Group, “Friends Don’t.”
Please join us in congratulating Maddie Marlow and Jonah Font on their engagement! We are so happy for this adorable couple (but we can’t say we didn’t see it coming)!
