Huge congratulations are in order for No. 1 singer-songwriter Kelsea Ballerini. The girl who continues to take country music by storm with her writing, singing, and performing skills has reached a level of success this year that no other female artist has reached.
Ballerini’s lead single off her sophomore album Unapologetically, “Legends,” has sold and streamed over 500,000 copies, earning her Recording Industry Association of America (“RIAA“) gold certification. According to the RIAA, Ballerini is the only country music female to obtain this certification in the last year, thus far.
As always, Ballerini humbly and appreciatively accepted the honor.
This is so amazing- thank you for this y’all. https://t.co/8Gv6I56Wd5

“Legends” served as the lead single off Ballerini’s second album, Unapologetically. The song reached the No. 1 spot on the charts, marking the fourth time in Ballerini’s young career that she has bested all her peers for radio play. Along with the rest of Ballerini’s album cuts (on both of her offerings), the twenty-four year-old is credited as a writer on the track. Joining her as writers of “Legends” are Hillary Lindsey and frequent co-writer and producer, Forest Glen Whitehead.
Following Ballerini’s fourth trip to the top of the chart, she released her second single off Unapologetically, “I Hate Love Songs.” The fast fan favorite, written by Ballerini, Shane McAnally, and Trevor Rosen, was pushed to radio in March of this year. So far, the song has broken into the Top 30 on the US Hot Country Songs chart and Top 40 on the Country Airplay chart. Of course, we expect that this song will soar like the rest of the tracks this starlet releases.
According to recent social media posts by Ballerini, the music video for “I Hate Love Songs” isn’t far off.
