If you have turned on the radio lately, you know that Keith Urban has a new single, which features singer-songwriter Julia Michaels. The song, “Coming Home,” is on Urban’s most recent album, Graffiti U, and is making its way up the charts as we speak.
To further support the release of this single to radio, Urban, along with collaborative partner Michaels, debuted a music video. The video, appropriately, shows Urban making his way through the day and town to the place he feels at “home” — the stage. There, he finds Michaels and the two sink their feet into what they call their comfort zone.
Urban credits the treatment for the music video to award-winning director Andy Hines.
He suggested the heightened reality that we see in the video, which keeps it more like a dream – an idea, more than an actuality. It was also important to have Julia there – she’s great energy to be around and I love singing with her, so I wanted us to be on stage at the same time to capture that.
Michaels joined in, stating:
Being on set with Keith was magical. He’s a rare person on and off set- full of love and positive energy. He surrounds himself with likeminded people such as his band who were incredible as well. I’m grateful to be a part of this video and grateful to be able to call this kick ass human, a friend.
“Coming Home” was written by Urban, J.R. Rotem, Michaels, Merle Haggard, and Nicolle Galyon and was co-produced by Urban and Rotem.
