If you tuned into Mike Huckabee‘s show on Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) last night, chances are you are still drying your tears from one of the most powerful and inspirational performances you have ever seen. Legendary country music singer Jo Dee Messina visited the Huckabee set to premiere her brand new song, “Bigger Than This,” (written by Messina and Seth Mosley and produced by Mosley and X O Connor) and give a little bit of insight to how her life has been since she received a cancer diagnosis in the summer of 2017.

Calling on choirs from two Hendersonville, Tennessee churches and relying on the Huckabee house band and her own drummer/bandleader, Marshall Richardson, Messina used the stage to share a piece of art that came to her while she was in a dark place. What viewers will take away from this performance that may cause your heart to skip a beat is that Messina placed every ounce of her faith in God, trusted that He would guide her in the right direction, and found solace in that special relationship.

The opening lyrics are “no, I’m not coming from the other side, I’m caught up in a raging sea” explaining that Messina is still in the middle of her journey, but recognized that her God is bigger than the struggles — and in that realization came peace.

On the website dedicated to downloading Messina’s “Bigger Than This,” the No. 1 singer provided a statement to explain how the song came about:

In the summer of 2017, I was facing struggles with my health, personal life, and finances. It seemed like everything was crashing in around me. My heart was really moved, not to focus on the chaos of life, but the bigness of God. At that point and from that place of praise and worship came this song.
